Biography

Dr. M.Sivarajan is a Sr. Scientist at the Cell for Industrial Safety and Risk Analysis, a wing popularly known as CISRA of Chemical Engineering Department of CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute. He has more than ten years of experience in Chemical Process Safety Management. As an active member of Cell for Industrial Safety & Risk Analysis (CISRA), he has developed expertise in the various qualitative and quantitative techniques of hazard identification viz. Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOP), Consequence Analysis and Risk Estimation, Reliability Analysis (FTA/ETA/FMECA), Qualitative & Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), Emergency Planning and Safety Audit for the Chemical Process Industries. The hazard identification techniques, application of different software for different release and accident scenarios, the threadbare analysis of the results, suggestion of applicable and viable safety systems with an eye on the economy have proved to be a success for the organization he has been working for. Prior joining CSIR-CLRI, he was associated with PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore as a faculty member for 2 years.
