Biography

Bill is an infectious disease immunologist having completed a PhD in Immunology at the University of Colorado Medical Center and postdoctroral work in human T cell leukemia virus at University of Colorado at Boulder. He then worked on tick borne diseases at the Center for Disease Control and Stony Brook University before joining the Exotic diseases group at Plum Island Animal Disease Center. Bill’s lab at Plum Island studied the immune response of cattle and swine to infection with foot-and-mouth disease virus and vaccine performance in those species. In 2016, Bill moved to Scotland to join the Moredun Research Institute.
