Major position and appointments are Scientific researcher I, Member of the Scientific Council of ICBP “Nicolae Simionescu”, Member in the Management Committee of the COST Action BM0904, Member in the Biology Committee of the Romanian National Authority for Scientific Research, National Research Council., Grant evaluator - Romanian National Authority for Scientific Research, Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding. Participation to-, and grants awarded by competition are participant in two international research projects: Collaborative Grant from Swiss ,National Science Foundation (1996-1998) and Collaborative linkage Grant NATO Science Programme (2002-2004). Executive Manager of two European projects: “Centre of Excellence”- Grant of the European Community, FP5, (2000-2004), and SERA - Grant of the European Community, in FP6, (2004-2007). co-director of the Greek-Romanian bilateral cooperation grant with Prof. Dimitris Kardassis (Univ. Crete, Greece). (2006-2008). Member in the Management Committee of the COST Action BM0904, (2009-2014). Coordinator of 10 national grants obtained by competition from the Romanian Academy or Romanian Ministry of Research. Awards: Prize of Excellency awarded to Anca Gafencu, by the National Science and Art Foundation, 2007.Prize awarded to Anca Gafencu, by CNCS for the results obtained in the frame of the grant “Regulation of apolipoprotein gene clusters - an innovative therapeutic approach of neurodegenerative and cardiovascular diseases” Project category: ”Young researchers - Excellent Projects”, 2007. Special prize of the Jury awarded to Violeta Trusca by L’Oreal– Competition “Women in Science”, 2012. Three prizes from CNCS for the papers published in the Journal of Chemical Biology and PLoS ONE (2007, 2011, 2012)
