Biography

Sheryl Menacker, MD, joined the Eye Center in January 2014, to launch an ophthalmic pratice for individuals of all ages with disabilities and to instruct ophthalmology residents in this specialized field. She earned her undergraduate degree maxima cum laude from LaSalle College, her medical degree cum laude at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and completed her residency at the University of Pennsylvania.  She completed a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, after which she joined the staff as a full-time attending. Menacker joined Tri-County Eye Physicians & Surgeons in 1992.  In addition to her full-time pediatric ophthalmology practice, since 1996 she has been director of eye care at Woods Services, a residential facility in the Philadelphia area for people with disabilities.  She is a certified Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. Menacker is also an active member of the Children’s Eye Foundation’s Board of Directors and examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology.  She holds a clinical appointment at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and commutes to Atlanta for her teaching and clinical practice at Emory Eye Center.
