Biography

I joined UTM in 2001 and completed my tertiary education at UTM with a PhD in Environmental Chemistry. Currently I am the Coordinator of MSc Civil Engineering (Environmental Management). My lectures are usually on Environmental Management, Water Quality Assessment and Environmental Quality Analysis. I found my niche in teaching and enjoy working with my students. Lectures are either conducted in class, lab or at rivers and lakes. Field trip is a must. If the time & tide is on our side, field work will also be conducted at estuaries and seagrass bed.

Research Intrest

Determining nutrient over-enrichment and developing nutrient management strategies to control eutrophication in lakes and estuaries Landuse impact and variation in biochemical properties on intertidal seagrass shoal Gastropods as indicator of heavy metal contamination in coastal areas Depuration of gastropods Design and development of urban food production system for resilience
