Biography

Dr. Robert S. Brueggeman joined the department of plant pathology at NDSU in 2010. His research specialty is the genetics and molecular biology of cereal disease resistance. His basic research focus is the molecular mechanisms underlying R-gene mediated disease resistance in barley. His applied research focus is the genetics of resistance against wheat stem rust and Fusarium head blight of barley. Dr. Brueggeman received his Ph.D. degree in 2009 from Washington State University. He is assisted in the field by Patrick Gross and in the lab by Thomas Gross. Dr. Brueggeman will teach Host-Parasite Genetics starting spring semester 2012.
