Director of the Center of Orthopaedic Osseointegration at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, University of Gothenburg, Sweden, between 1999-2014. Presently visiting associate professor at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, and co-director for the international Center for Osseointegration Research, Education and Surgery (iCORES) at University of California, San Francisco. Performed more than 200 surgeries using a novel percutaneous osseointegrated prosthetic system for the treatment of amputees. Lead surgeon for a team that in 2013 for the first time in the world implanted muscle and nerve electrodes in an amputee with an osseointegrated implant to improve the control of the prosthetic arm.
