Biography

Mr. Leonard A. Herzenberg, also known as Len, Ph.D. serves as Emeritus Professor of Genetics at Stanford University Medical School. Mr. Herzenberg serves as Scientific Advisor of Rescentris, Inc. Mr. Herzenberg has been Chairman and Member of flow cytometry scientific advisory board of Life Technologies Corporation (Formerly Invitrogen Corp.) since June 2006. He serves as Member of Scientific Advisory Board of Medinox, Inc. He helped found what is now Becton-Dickinson Biosciences, the leading manufacturer of FACS systems, and has recently agreed to head the Invitrogen Science Advisory Board for flow cytometry. The National Academy of Sciences elected him to membership in 1982 and several top scientific prizes have recognized his work. These include the Torino Medical Award (2007), Kyoto Prize (2006), Novartis Award in Immunology (2004), the Edwin D. Ullman Award in Clinical Chemistry (2002) and the Lifetime Service Award of the American Association of Immunologists (1998).
