Biography

Adj Assoc Prof Sharon Tow completed her Fellowship training in Neuro-ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore in 2001. On her return to SNEC, she helped to develop the Neuro-ophthalmology service, and since 2006, has been the head of this busy service. Adj Assoc Prof Tow is actively involved in teaching undergraduate Medical students and trainees in Ophthalmology (see CME courses). She examines regularly for the Singapore College of Ophthalmology as well as the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. Adj Assoc Prof Tow’s research interests include epidemiologic studies of neuro-ophthalmologic conditions in Singapore, optic neuritis, ischaemic optic neuropathy and ocular motor nerve palsies. She lectures regularly at local and international meetings. She has contributed to book chapters in the Neuro-Ophthalmology Section of Ocular Manifestation of Systemic Diseases Atlas, as well as the Neuro-Ophthalmology section of Clinical Ophthalmology – An Asian Perspective.
