Biography

Clinical interests: include all of anesthesiology with a particular interest in securing airway management and anesthesia in the most difficult airway patients as well as providing anesthesia and monitoring for patients needing brain or spinal column surgery. Primary research interests: involve improving education of airway management among anesthesiology trainees. This has encompassed various facets, including the following: development of an assessment tool for determination of baseline knowledge in trainees, production of checklists for different airway management techniques, construction of computer-based modules for teaching airway management, organization of simulation sessions in the specific area of endotracheal extubation, and a continuing study to improve American Society of Anesthesiologists attendees skill and self-confidence in adult flexible fiberoptic intubation.
