Biography

"Jonathan is an epidemiologist who joined City University London in 2001. He previously worked at the Royal Free Hospital of Medicine and University College London. His research focuses on HIV and sexual health. Jonathan initially worked with the World Health Organisation in Bangladesh and Somalia on the Smallpox Eradication Programme and then in Nepal on the Expanded Immunisation Programme. After training in epidemiology and demography, he went on to examine geographic differences in the incidence of coronary heart disease in Britain for his PhD at the University of London. He worked as a Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer in Epidemiology at the Royal Free Hospital of Medicine in London (now University College London) as well as at the University of New South Wales, Sydney (sabbatical leave). He came to City University London in 2001. For the last two decades his research has focused on HIV and sexual health."
