2015 - Wales link as an early career researcher, supported by Professors Jo Rycroft-Malone and Chris Burton, on NIHR research led proposal. This bid, led by Dr. Debbie Baldie, with Professor Brendan McCormack as PI, involves colleagues from around the UK. The research project aims to implement and evaluate a complex intervention aimed at enhancing care home staff’s ability to listen and learn from the experiences of older people in receipt of their care. 2011 - £59.000 NISCHR PhD 3-year part-time scholarship to conduct research in care homes to investigate if national best practice recommendations for stroke can be tailored for implementation in the care home setting. 2011 - £4.000 Florence Nightingale Travel scholarship. Examined stroke best practice implementation practices in Canadian long-term care facilities. 2007 - Masters research examined the Health Trust’s ‘Public Members’ group, which was designed to meet the Hospital Trust’s Patient and Public Involvement agenda, the research evaluated their perceptions regarding their involvement within the local Acute Trust.
