Biography

Dr. Elizabeth A. Carlson [BSN, University of Michigan (1973), MSN, University of Alabama in Birmingham (1977), PhD, Rush University (1988)] has held a variety of clinical and academic positions of leadership at Rush University Medical Center since 1976. Beginning as a CNS in critical care, she served as Interim Chairperson of Medical Nursing [a joint clinical and academic leadership position], and is currently Professor and Chairperson, Department of Adult Health and Gerontological Nursing, Rush College of Nursing. She was recognized as a 2014 Pinnacle Leader by the Power of Nursing Leadership. She served as Program Director for Systems Leadership DNP from 2012-2014.
