Dr. Icban is a Assistant Professor of Clinical Optometry for the College. She is an attending optometrist for third and fourth year students at various community health centers in the Boston area, including the Pine Street Inn (affiliated with Boston Health Care for the Homeless), The North End Community Health Center, and NECO Center for Eye Care Roslindale. Dr. Icban is originally from the West Coast, having graduated from the University of California Berkeley Optometry School in 2005. After graduating, she worked for Sterling Vision in Northern California for a year and then decided to join a private practice in Hilo, on the big island of Hawaii. She enjoyed her stay on the islands, but, having always had the desire to do a residency, decided on a change of scenery and began her residency with the VA Boston Health Care System. She completed her residency in primary care and ocular disease at the VA hospital in West Roxbury in 2008. After residency, Dr. Icban began her current position with the College as a clinical instructor. She enjoys working with students and seeing patients in the community health care setting.
