Biography

Dr. Kurt Pontasch has received his PhD in Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University during the period of 1998 currently, she is working as Associate Professor in University of Northern Iowa

Research Intrest

Ecotoxicology, Interests include the fate and effects of contaminants in aquatic ecosystems, including stream microcosm toxicity tests using naturally occurring macro invertebrate and periphyton communities, in stream bio assessments of benthic community integrity, and the use of aquatic insect cholinesterase activities as potential biomarkers of organophosphorus pesticide contamination in streams.
