Biography

Dr Khalida Muda obtained her Bachelor Degree in Clinical Biochemistry from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Selangor in 1992. In 2006, she completed her Master of Sciences from Manchester University, Manchester, United Kingdom and completed her PhD in 2009 from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai, Johor. She started her career in educational line in 1997 as a lecturer in the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, UTM. The main core subject taught by Dr Khalida is Environmental Management for undergraduate students. Besides teaching, Dr Khalida has successfully supervised many undergraduate and postgraduate students. At present, Dr Khalida is supervising about 12 postgraduate students. Dr Khalida is actively involved in research under the WATER Research Alliances; UTM with strong research interest in the field of water and wastewater treatment particularly in biodegradation processes using Biogranulation Technology. She also has specialties in Environmental Management, Water Quality Analysis and Environmental Microbiology. She is now an Associate Professor acting as the Head of Environmental Laboratory, Department of Environmental Engineering. Currently, Dr Khalida has more then 50 scientific publications including journals and proceedings from local and international conferences. She is a member of Malaysian Society for Engineering and Technology (MSET) and Malaysian Water Association (MWA).
