Dr Daniel Walsh received his Degree in Biochemistry from the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG) and completed his PhD in Protein Biochemistry, also at NUIG. Dr Walsh is currently a Lecturer at Limerick Institute of Technology where he lectures in Biosciences, Bio-processing, Biotechnology and biopharmaceuticals, Biochemistry with Toxicology, Advanced and Special Topics, Food Science and Advanced Biochemistry. Dr Walsh is a protein biochemist with experience in the extraction, enrichment, purification, enzymatic hydrolysis, identification, physicochemical and functional characterisation of novel components and derivatives from diverse natural sources. He is a founding member of Shannon Applied Biotechnology Centre and is also a member of the Institute of Food Science and Technology. Dr. Walsh is currently engaged in a variety of academic, national and industrial project collaborations.
