The main focus is the study of the mechanisms of host cell invasion by parvoviruses, which are among the smallest and simplest viruses known. They infect a wide range of animals and cause disease in humans. Because they depend on cellular functions for every step of their lifecycle, parvoviruses are excellent models to study virus-host interactions. We are very interested in the early steps of the infection. As models, we use parvovirus virus of mice (MVM) and human parvovirus B19
