Biography

The structure of Clinical Nutrition aims to cure and prevent malnutrition in a patient suffering from neoplastic disease, in order to optimize oncological care and ensure an acceptable quality of life. The structure of Clinical Nutrition operates according to the guidelines of the European Society of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, collaborating transversely with all the medical and surgical structures of the institute, providing patients with nutritional problems, a full evaluation of the nutritional status, drawing up a A comprehensive program of counseling , enteral and parenteral nutrition, and monitoring of nutritional status throughout the oncological therapeutic process.

Research Intrest

The research activity of the structure aims at identifying the optimal nutrition regime in the various oncological pathologies and in the various stages of oncological treatment. In particular, different nutrition regimens are studied for different types of patients, such as: • Patients suffering from gastrointestinal disease and underwent surgery and chemotherapy • Patients with combined cancer treatment head and neck cancer CT + RT • Patients undergoing radiotherapy abdominal and pelvic.
