Biography

Dr. Catrambone teaches in the DNP and PhD programs with an emphasis on outcomes research, evidence-based practice, leadership development, and health policy. She is a pulmonary nurse expert and well known for her leadership and advocacy in promoting lung health, smoking cessation, smoke free environments and clean air. Funded by the CDC and IDPH, her research focuses on asthma surveillance and system level interventions to promote guideline recommended asthma care in the emergency department setting. Dr. Catrambone is an international leader and President of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) for 2015-2017. With over 135,000 members in 91 countries worldwide, she provides strategic leadership in advancing the world health mission of STTI. She is an inaugural member of the STTI Global Advisory Panel for the Future of Nursing (GAPFON) that will establish a voice and vision for the future of nursing and midwifery in advancing global health.
