Biography

  Dr. Cornell is a Clinical Associate Professor and Certified Nurse Educator at the School of Nursing of Western Kentucky University. She received her ADN, BSN and MSN from Western Kentucky University and completed a doctoral degree from the University of Louisville in Educational Leadership and Organizational Development. Dr. Cornell is the course and practicum coordinator for the senior High Acuity class in the prelicensure baccalaureate program and the senior practicum clinical courses. Her nursing practice background is in emergency and medical-surgical nursing. She serves as a Faculty Advisor for the WKU chapter of the Kentucky Association of Nursing Students (KANS), and is a member of the Kentucky Nurses Association, Emergency Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International and is a sustaining member of the National Student Nurses Association. She is involved in student engagement within the community providing service through participation and volunteerism for multiple organizations. Her research interests include issues related to nursing clinical education and organizational leadership.
