Biography

Bachelor of Science (Biological) and PhD in Sciences (Biological), University of Málaga. Professor at the University of Málaga since 1994. Title Training for Laboratory Animal Use (Autonomous University of Barcelona) and Accreditation (categories B, C and D-1) to work with experimental animals (Junta de Andalucía). Career: (1) reproduction and population dynamics of mammals and (2) cardiovascular system in vertebrates -Anatomy and embryology of heart valve system elasmobranch actinopterygian, amphibians and mammals, cartilage cardiac tetrapods and congenital malformations of the semilunar valves Cardiac and coronary arteries in mammals and in the human species. Stays abroad: (1) Istituto di Anatomia Patologica. Università degli Studi di Padova, Italy. Topic: Bicuspid aortic valve: a comparative study in man and an animal model. (2) Laboratoire d'Anatomie Comparée. Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France. Theme: Effect of channel inhibition on cardiac development in amphibians.
