Alcides Lopes Leao holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP (1981), a master's degree in Agronomy (Energy in Agriculture) from UNESP (1987) and a Ph.D. from Forestry - University of Wisconsin - Madison (1993) in the USDA-FPL (Forest Products Laboratory) University of Wisconsin - Madison, USA. He was national advisor to SEBRAE - Service of Support to Micro and Small Companies in the areas of Environment, Waste and Natural Fibers. He has been a professor at São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho since 1997, where he was admitted in 1985. He has experience in the area of ​​Bioenergy and Materials Engineering and Metallurgy, with emphasis on Non-Metallic Materials. Mainly engaged in the following subjects: environmental management, composites, natural fibers, recycling, biomass energy and industrial, agricultural and urban (trash) waste management.
