studied at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He specializes in Ophthalmology at Ippokrateio Gen. Thessaloniki. In the same Clinic he worked as a Scientific Associate for 8 years. During this period he received his Ph.D. degree from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, while at the same time he participated in the surgical team under Kath.N.Stago who applied pioneering methods in the treatment of cataract and retinal diseases. He was trained at the Moorefield's Eye Hospital in London and the Cologne University Clinic in the treatment of complicated glaucoma . He was a Scientific Adviser at the Ophthalmology Clinic of the Democritus University of Thrace for 5 years. Member of the European Ophthalmology Council (FEBO). Member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ECSRS).
