Dr Rani Chahal is a consultant anaesthetist with clinical appointments at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Western Health. He graduated in medicine from the University of Melbourne in 2003 and completed his specialist training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, together with fellowships at the Royal Children's Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. He has a special interest in anaesthesia for head and neck surgery, advanced airway assessment and management, perioperative medicine and quality improvement research with a focus on perioperative thromboprophylaxis in cancer surgery. In 2015 Rani was awarded the Premier's Healthcare Awards for Excellence in Cancer Care for his work on venous thrombomebolism prevention.
