He previously served as Director of Family Therapy Training at California Pacific Medical Center. He is a member of the San Francisco Psychotherapy Research Group and has written and lectured on Control Mastery Theory's contrast and overlap with other theoretical approaches. He teaches Case Conference, Family Therapy, and Clinicians to Society at the Wright Institute and maintains a clinical and consultation private practice in Dublin.
