Stephen Kurt Benirschke M.D., a UW professor of orthopaedics and sports medicine, specializes in surgical treatment for foot and ankle disorders. He earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and completed his internship and residency there. He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and also completed an orthopaedic fellowship in Switzerland. He has been at the UW since 1985. Dr. Benirschke's clinical interests include foot and ankle trauma and reconstruction, articular fractures and other foot and ankle problems.
