Biography

 Graduate (1972) and Doctor (1976) in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Navarra. Specialist in Nephrology at the University of Navarra Clinic. He completed his studies at the Necker-Enfânts malades Hospital of the Renè Descartes University School of Medicine and at the John Radcliffe Hospital of the University of Oxford.   Director of the Nephrology Department of the Clínica Universdad de Navarra.   ACTIVITY   As a teacher Adjunct professor responsible for the subject "Transplants" of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra.   He has conducted five doctoral theses. As researcher He has published more than 80 articles, of which more than 35 have been in international journals. He has edited two books and participated in the elaboration of another six (with 9 chapters).   It adds more than 250 communications to national and international congresses.

Research Intrest

 Experimental Immunology of the Goodpasture Syndrome. Mechanisms of antigen recognition in in vitro models of xenotransplantation. Mechanisms of graft rejection. Studies with new immunosuppressants. Factors of cardiovascular risk after renal transplantation.
