Biography

Dr. Kragballe is an internationally recognized specialist in skin diseases. He is author or co-author of more than 240 scientific papers including editorials and reviews/book chapters. Fields of interest include the pathogenesis of psoriasis, molecular mediators of skin inflammation, and the role of vitamin D in skin diseases. Dr. Kragballe was the first to document the anti-psoriatic effect of vitamin D analogues. In 2002 he received an award for his research in psoriasis from the American Skin Association. Dr. Kragballe received his license as a specialist in Dermato-venerology in 1984 and became professor in 1992 at the Department of Dermatology at Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark and subsequently in 2011 adjunct professor in the same department. Dr. Kragballe also works as consultant in dermatology at private hospitals as well as for a significant number of pharma companies among which are Abbott, LEO Pharma, MSD, Novartis and Pfizer. He has been international co-ordinating investigator on several clinical trials in psoriasis including Taclonex/Daivobet products.
