Originally from Canada, she attained her Bachelor of Science in Biology and earned her DVM from the Ontario Veterinary College. While in Alaska, Carol practiced general medicine and surgery and also served as a veterinarian and Public Health official in the Alaskan Arctic. She participated in wildlife field studies throughout the state. Since moving to New Mexico, she has worked as an emergency and critical care veterinarian in Santa Fe and is now delighted to be part of the Smith Vet team.
Carol's special interests include internal medicine, geriatric medicine, and critical care and her professional affiliations include the AVMA and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society.
