Biography

 Professor Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed is a lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia since 1993. Currently, he is the director of University of Industry Collaborative Centre and the director of “Sciences and Arts Innovation Space” or better known as Sains@USM, a planned space for an innovation park aimed at providing a platform for a fusion of innovative ideas from multiple and across disciplines. In addition, he is also the chief of the Division of Research & Development, CREST. Prof. Rahman has served to enhance the cooperation between USM and various industries through CREST research program. Prof. Rahman is an active researcher in the School of Chemical Engineering. He has received several long-term and short-term grants from various national/international sources. To date, Prof. Rahman has had more than 80 grants including international, national and university grants amounting to a total of RM 18 million. Prof. Rahman has performed very well in term of publication, with H–Index of 40 and total citation of 5207, based on the Scopus bibliographic database on Mar 31, 2015. Until today, he has published more than 400 research papers in international/national journals and conference preceding. The number of his publications in the international journals has nearly 300 and so far he has supervised more than 80 postgraduate (Masters/PhD) students. The number of students who have graduated under Prof. Rahman’s supervision is almost more than 40. Additionally, some of his students (more than 10 people) have done research attachment in internationally recognized universities such as Osaka University (Japan), Nagaoka University of Technology (Japan) and the University of Lorraine (France).
