Zak grew up in Lowestoft, Suffolk and always had a passion for science, particularly biology, and animal welfare. He went on to train as a veterinary surgeon at The Royal Veterinary College and graduated with honours in 2006. He started working at my local CVS practice – The Veterinary Hospital – where he spent much of his work experience as a student. Under the guidance of the vets there he soon became a confident medic and general surgeon. Throughout his veterinary education he had a strong interest in medicine, especially cardiology and diagnostic imaging. He soon developed a niche in his practice, becoming lead vet in ultrasound and heart scans. He has also been an advocate for the importance of first class customer service and worked hard to build strong client relationships and provide a service for clients and patients that they deserved from a Veterinary Hospital. At the end of 2010 he moved into a senior role at The Veterinary Hospital, taking on the position of Clinical Director. In this job, he continued to work as an experienced veterinary surgeon, but also led the clinical services at the practice and tried to maintain consistently high standards from all the staff. In 2011, he took part in the Aspirational Leadership Course, a management course run by CVS to train future leaders within the business.
