In August 2017, he joined Genting Group to spearhead the establishment of high throughput DNA sequencing and Bioinformatics capabilities in genome sequencing, assembly and annotation. Weng Wah was actively involved in various oil palm and microbial genomics project and embarking his interest in human genomics. He specialises in the areas of biomarker discovery, metagenomics, assay development and parallel computing; he is also instrumental in genomics big data project. Mr Lee earned his first degree in Resource Biotechnology from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and obtained his MSc in Genetic Engineering and Molecular Biology from Universiti Putra Malaysia.
