Waldemar Jud was born in Salzburg in 1943 as the son of the commercial commission of the same name and his wife Sophie. He completed his high school diploma at the German National Gymnasium. Subsequently, Jud studied jurisprudence and political science at the University of Graz with temporary study stays at Trinity College (Cambridge) , McGill University in Montreal and the University of Poitiers . After successfully completing his studies, Jud promoted both jurisprudential and political sciences and thus earned his degree in both disciplines. After being employed as a university assistant at the University of Salzburg under Rolf Ostheim and at the University of Graz under Horst Wünsch , Jud became a law lecturer in commercial law. One year later, he was appointed as an extraordinary professor of commercial law with a focus on corporate law and intellectual property law at the University of Graz. In 1984, he took over as a full professor of commercial and securities law at the Institute for Austrian and International Business and Business Law at the University of Graz. He held this position until his retirement in 2012. Even after his retirement, Jud is still an active member of numerous supervisory boards, such as Oberbank AG , BKS Bank , Do & Co AG and Bank für Tirol und Vorarlberg . Waldemar Jud is the father of the Viennese university lecturer Brigitta Zöchling-Jud .
