received her MD Degree from the University of Texas, Dallas in 1992 and an MPH from the University of Michigan, and completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. She earned a fellowship in Infectious Diseases and is board certified in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine. Dr. Thornton is a Professor at the University of New Mexico Department of Internal Medicine.
