Kermit received his B.A. In Computer Science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He has over 20 years experience in developing software for instrumentation and industrial process control ranging from cotton fiber testing instrumentation to electrolytic plating of semiconductor components. In 1993, Kermit joined Zellweger Uster as a software engineer where he was responsible for the User AFIS software for optical measurement of cotton and man-made fiber properties. He developed data analysis package Composer for assisting in the predictive maintenance of fiber processing equipment. He was also the software engineer for the 700 series table top instruments targeted at emerging market customers, In 1997, he became the software engineer and technical lead for the Intelligin product for gin process control which allowed U.S. Growers to achieve near Egyptian quality cotton. In 1998, he joined MTS Systems Corporation’s Nano Instruments Operation where he was the project leader for the nano scale mechanical testing software TestWorks. During his time at MTS, he lead the software development for products including the Nanoindenter XP, DCM, Lateral Force, Continuous Stiffness Option, NanoVision, and the G200. His diversified background in software, electronics and mechanics contributed to a range of innovations for which he was inducted into the MTS Circle of Innovators. His efforts have led to numerous new nanomechanical tests through new capabilities of the software and ease of use enhancements. In addition to his software duties, Kermit participated in the strategic planning process for the business group, consulting to manufacturing department, and consulting with with application engineering group.
