Mr. Hinton is president and chief executive officer of Baylor Scott & White Health, overseeing a health system that includes more than 1,000 patient access points across Texas, in addition to the Scott & White Health Plan, Baylor Scott & White Research Institute and Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance. Previously, Mr. Hinton served as president and CEO of Presbyterian Healthcare Services. He joined Presbyterian in 1983, and spent his last 21 years there as president and CEO. Mr. Hinton served as the 2014 chair for the Board of Trustees of the American Hospital Association (AHA). He formerly chaired the AHA's Committee on Research and the Operations Committee. He also served on the board of Premier healthcare alliance and chaired the board of the Healthcare Institute. Among the industry honors he has received, Mr. Hinton was named one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare magazine in 2014 and 2013 and was recognized in the 2013 "300 Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know" published by Becker's Hospital Review.
