Biography

    Mr. Jeffrey B. Kindler, also known as Jeff, J.D., serves as the Managing Director at Starboard Capital Partners, LLC. Mr. Kindler serves as Chief Executive Officer of Centrexion Corporation since 2014, Principal and Senior Advisor to Marathon Pharmaceuticals, LLC, since 2012. Mr. Kindler has been Executive Chairman of vTv Therapeutics Inc. since July 2015 and has been its Executive Director since April 2015. Mr. Kindler has been a Venture Partner of Lux Capital Management since 2012. He is a Venture Advisor at Israel Biotech Fund. He serves as a Consultant at Efung Capital. With more than three decades of experience, Mr. Kindler is an expert in pharmaceuticals and other health care sectors, corporate legal matters including regulation, litigation, compliance and crisis management, brand and franchise management, board and corporate governance and executive leadership. He served as a Senior Advisor and Principal of Paragon Pharmaceuticals, LLC. Mr. Kindler is a healthcare executive, investor and advisor who has held leadership positions at some of the world's most recognized companies. He served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pfizer Inc. from December 19, 2006 to December 5, 2010 and from July 31, 2006 to December 5, 2010 respectively. Mr. Kindler served as an Executive Vice President of Pfizer Inc. from April 2004 to March 2005 and also served as its Chief Legal officer from January 2002 to December 2010 and Senior Vice President from January 2002 to April 2004. He served as the Managing Director at Starboard Capital Partners, LLC since 2010. Mr. Kindler joined Pfizer in January 2002 as an Executive Vice President and General Counsel and led its worldwide legal, compliance, communications, government relations, corporate citizenship, policy development and global security groups. He served as the General Counsel of Pfizer Inc. from January 2002 to July 30, 2006. Since retiring from Pfizer in 2010, Mr. Kindler has been active in venture capital and private equity across the healthcare sector. While at Pfizer, he worked with former President Bill Clinton to help medicines to impoverished patients in the developing world through public-private pharmaceutical partnerships. Mr. Kindler also represented the pharmaceutical industry in U.S. government healthcare reform efforts, helping to increase access to affordable medicines while preserving an environment in which pharmaceutical firms can discover and develop innovative treatments. He served as the President of Partner Brands (including Boston Market, Pret a Manager and Chipotle Mexican Grill) at McDonald's Corporation. Mr. Kindler served as Chief Legal Officer, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of McDonald's Corporation from 1997 to 2001. Before that, he served as the Vice President of Litigation and Legal Policy at General Electric Company. Mr. Kindler was a Partner at Williams & Connolly, where he practiced civil and criminal litigation. He began his legal career as an Attorney at the Federal Communications Commission. Mr. Kindler was a senior leader at McDonalds Corporation from 1997 to 2001. He served as an Officer at General Electric Company from 1990 to 1996 and an Attorney in Washington, D.C. from 1980 to 1990. Mr. Kindler served as a Law Clerk to Judge David L. Bazelon of the U.S. Court of Appeals of the D.C. Circuit. He served as a Law Clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice William J. Brennan, Jr. He has been the Chairman of The GLG Institute since October 2014. Mr. Kindler served as the Chairman of Boston Market Corporation from 2000 to 2001. He served as the Chairman of Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. Mr. Kindler served as the Chairman and Director of the US-Japan Business Council. He served as the Chairman of PhRMA (Pharmaceutical Researchers and Manufacturers of America). Mr. Kindler served as a Vice Chairman of Pfizer Inc. from March 2005 to July 30, 2006. Mr. Kindler has been an Independent Director of Intrexon Corporation since November 2011 and SIGA Technologies, Inc. since March 2013. He has been an Independent Director of Perrigo Company plc since February 7, 2017. He serves as a Director at Vium, Inc., Pharmaceutical Product Development, LLC (PPD), AgaMatrix, Inc., Biotechnology Innovation Organization, Jaguar Holding Company I and Sheridan Healthcare, Inc. Mr. Kindler serves as a Director of Mousera, Inc. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Paragon Pharmaceuticals, LLC. Mr. Kindler serves as a Director of Tufts University, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Business Roundtable, The Manhattan Theatre Club, the Council on Competitiveness and The Business Council. He has been a Director of The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University since November 21, 2011. Mr. Kindler is a Member of President Obama's Management Advisory Board. He serves as a Member of Board of Directors of Advantia Health LLC and Starboard Capital Partners, LLC. Mr. Kindler serves as a Member of Board of Advisors at Hometeam Care, Inc. and Marathon Pharmaceuticals, LLC. Mr. Kindler served as a Lead Director of Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. from May 2014 to August 15, 2014 and also served as its Director from September 25, 2012 to August 15, 2014. He served on the Board of Trustees of Ronald McDonald House Charities, Inc. Mr. Kindler served as a Director of Pfizer Inc. from July 28, 2006 to December 5, 2010. He served as a Director of Catalyst Inc., The Partnership for New York City, Inc. and New York City Investment Fund Manager, Inc. Mr. Kindler served as a Director of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. He served as a Director of The Federal Reserve Bank of New York from October 2009 to December 31, 2009 and until December 24, 2010. Mr. Kindler was an Editor of the Harvard Law Review at Harvard University. He served as a Member of the President's Export Council, the Shanghai Mayor's Business Advisory Council and the Business Roundtable. Mr. Kindler served as a Director of the United Way of New York City and The Legal Aid Society. In his corporate career, he was recognized for his leadership in the areas of pro bono legal services, diversity and corporate social responsibility by groups ranging from Outward Bound to the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. Mr. Kindler earned a JD in 1980 from Harvard University and a B.A. Summa Cum Laude in 1977 from Tufts University.
