Mr. J. Erik Fyrwald has been the Chief Executive Officer at Syngenta AG since June 01, 2016. Mr. Fyrwald served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Univar Inc. until May 31, 2016. He joined Univar in May 2012. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President at Nalco Holding Co., since February 28, 2008. He served as the President at Ecolab Inc. from October 2011 to May 1, 2012. He served as the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Nalco Finance Holdings LLC, Nalco Holdings LLC and Nalco CO LLC since February 28, 2008. He spent 27 years at DuPont where he held positions of increasing responsibility in technology, manufacturing, sales and marketing, strategic planning and regional and global business unit leadership, including four years in Asia. He served as Group Vice President of Dupont Agriculture and Nutrition of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company from July 1, 2003 to February 2008. He was responsible for the Pioneer Hi-Bred International, DuPont Crop Protection and Nutrition and Health businesses at DuPont. He served as Vice President and General Manager of DuPont's Nutrition and Health business from 2000 to 2003. Mr. Fyrwald served as Vice President and General Manager of the Nutrition and Health businesses of companies which included: The Solae Company, DuPont Qualicon, Liqui-Box and DuPont Food Industry Solutions. Since 1998, he served as Vice President of Corporate Plans and Business Development and served as Vice President of e-Commerce. He served as Vice President of Corporate Plans and led the development of DuPont's e-business efforts. He served as the Chairman of Nalco Holding Co. from February 28, 2008 to December 1, 2011. He also served as Chairman of Crop Life International for two years. Mr. Fyrwald serves as a Director at Chicago Public Education Fund. He serves as Director of Amsted Industries. He serves as a Director of American Chemistry Council, Inc. He has been a Director at Eli Lilly and Company since November 1, 2005. He served as a Director of E.I. du Pont Canada Company since May 1999. He served as a Director of Nalco Finance Holdings LLC and Nalco Holdings LLC since February 28, 2008. He served as a Director of Univar Inc. since May 7, 2012 until May 31, 2016. He served as a Director of Nalco Holdings Co. from February 28, 2008 to December 1, 2011. He served as a Trustee of Rush University Medical Center He serves as a Board Member of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), CropLife International President's Advisory Group, the Des Moines Art Center, the Greater Deus Moines Partnership (Public and Private Collaboration), the Farm Foundation, 8th Continent LLC. and The Solae Company. He serves as serves on the boards of Society of Chemical Industry. Mr. Fyrwald attended the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program in 1998 and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware in 1981.
