Warren Buffet says to find a job that makes you ‘jump out of bed each morning’. I’m lucky; I have one. As the CEO of ChemicalInfo, each day I get to lead a team of highly specialized and dedicated employees who help our customers improve their supply chain by connecting chemical buyers with the best sellers. In addition to creating a work environment where people are valued and encouraged to have work-life balance, together we strive to provide the freshest and most accurate data on chemical producers in the market – bar none. Our product has been the gold standard in our sector for over 40 years, and we take it personally that the brand will continue to be. We owe it to those who built company, the customers who pay us for accurate data and great service, and our investors. After two decades with some of the globe’s best corporate entities like Nuance, Convergys and Cisco, I found that I love small, nimble and aggressive companies. We are closer to our customers and can improve our service faster by circling around a white board and dreaming up ways to simplify and improve the chemical procurement process. Sometimes our ideas fail. We circle back and do it again. That’s what happens in innovative cultures. In addition to generating profits for our shareholders, improving our service on behalf of our customers and building great teams and cultures, I also love community service. I have served on the boards of the local boards of the Digital Analytics Association Dallas Chapter, the University of Texas at Dallas Marketing Advisory Board, the Wesley-Rankin Community Center and the Dallas International School, and serve as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in Dallas County, advocating for the needs of children in foster care. I also love to mentor and teach. I am an adjunct professor in the Baylor University Executive MBA program and mentor at the Tech Wildcatters technology start up incubator.
