Pieter Moons is a bio-engineer with a background in microbiology and biotechnology. During his PhD at KULeuven he did research on bacterial interactions in biofilms. He currently manages collaborative projects on diagnostics for infectious diseases involving both academia and industry. His research focuses on the molecular as well as phenotypic detection of micro-organisms and antibiotic resistance directly from clinical samples.
