Biography
Dirk Backhaus was born in Hamm, Germany, on February 4, 1967 and graduated from RWTH Aachen with a PhD in chemistry. He started his career after - a postdoc-stint at Ohio State University - in 1997 as Lab chemist & project leader in the Central Research of Bayer AG in Leverkusen. From 2001 to 2003 he was Plant Manager at the HB-plant of Bayer CropScience in Dormagen.
