Carlos Costa Pina is a member of Galp’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee and he is responsible for corporate services and the New Energy business area. He received his degree in Law and a Masters in Legal and Business Sciences from the School of Law, University of Lisbon. Previously he worked in Technology, Media and Telecommunications, real estate and services companies in the Ongoing group (Portugal and Brazil). He was Secretary of State for Treasury and Finance in the XVII and XVIII Portuguese Constitutional Governments (2005-2011) and therefore occupied roles in several international financial institutions. He has also been a director at CMVM (Portuguese Securities Market Regulator) (2000-2005), a member of the Advisory Board of the Insurance Institute of Portugal (2001-2005) and a lawyer with his own legal practice, particularly in oil exploration and production (1994-1998). He was also a lecturer in the Lisbon Law School where he is preparing his doctorate. Carlos Costa Pina is the author of numerous published works.
