Ludwig gives the world's leading scientists the resources and the freedom to pursue discoveries at every step from the laboratory to the clinic. Our researchers don't follow the crowd; they follow their instincts and the evidence toward breakthroughs that will change our understanding of the origins and behavior of cancer.Human tumors are driven by genomic alterations that disrupt key oncogenic pathways. Building on nearly 40 years of research, the characterization of these genomic alterations is now being used to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment. Our group at the Molecular Oncology Center of the Hospital Sírio-Libanês is developing strategies to incorporate comprehensive tumor genomic profiling into the routine care of cancer patients, improving diagnosis and facilitating rational treatment choices
