Biography

An graduated in 1992 as an industrial engineer of electromechanics at the (now) Catholic University of Leuven campus Oostende. For 15 years An was an R & D engineer involved in applied research at multiple employers including KUL Composites Group, Recticel IDC, Rogers Corporation. The research was always driven by the specific needs of the customer. Thus, experience was gained in materials research, electrical engineering, intellectual property and innovation management. From 2007 on, An became an Innovation Advisor at the Innovation Centers, where she mainly focused on innovation and IP strategy coaching. An has since been a member of BEPIUG (Belgian patent user group) and has gained extensive experience around IP as a management tool for companies. Since 2016, An works for the Expertise Center Business Design and Innovation within AMS, and is primarily active in projects that focus on business management in rapidly changing environments. This focuses on the principles of exponential thinking and IP management coaching.
