Alan was born and educated in Birmingham, and qualified from Bristol University in 1979, and after jobs in Yorkshire, North London and Devon, settled in a small animal practice in Hertfordshire where he eventually became the managing partner. Hankering after a more rural life, he moved to North Norfolk, and 6 years ago accepted the position of Clinical Director for Primary Services at the Grove Veterinary Hospital and Clinics, based at the main practice in Fakenham. His main professional interests are ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery and practice management.
