Biography

Elmore joined the Cellular and Molecular Pathology Branch’s (CMPB) staff in January 2006 as Veterinary Medical Officer and Staff Scientist. She received her B.S. degree in genetics with a minor in biotechnology from NCSU in 1987. She worked as a Research Associate in the lab of Dr. Clyde Hutchison in the University of North Carolina Microbiology/Immunology Department from 1987-1997. After graduating from veterinary school at North Carolina State University (NCSU) in 2001, she began her residency in veterinary anatomic pathology, also at NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2003 she completed her residency and accepted a position as an Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) fellow at NIEHS in the CMPB/NTP Toxicologic Pathology Training Program. She received her board certifications from the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 2004 and from the American Board of Toxicology in 2010 and was elected a fellow in the International Academy of Toxicologic Pathology in 2011.
