Biography

My background is in long term conditions (respiratory nursing) and particularly working with adolescents and young adults. I am co-chair of the European Cystic Fibrosis Nurse (ECFS) Special Interest Group and a member of the ECFS Scientific Group. I sit on the Joint seminars committee for NHS Lothian and the three Nursing HEI’s in Edinburgh and I am a member of the Lothian and Borders Nursing, Midwifery Allied Health Profession (NMAHP) group- whose aim is to support research across clinical and academic institutions. I am Programme Leader for the Masters in Professional and Higher Education and am an External Examiner for a similar programme at the University of Greenwich. I am Academic link for the South of Scotland Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Programme which is an external collaboration validated through QMU.

Research Intrest

Completed Professional Doctorate in 2014: Negotiating healthcare through partnership: Exploring social interactions between Health Care Professionals and young “expert” patients in the self-management of a long term condition. As a programme leader for the Msc in Professional and Higher Education, also interested in Educational research that transforms the learner experience.
