Jack grew up in Edmonton and graduated with distinction from WCVM in 1972. He worked in and owned a general small animal practice in downtown Calgary until 2008. Clinical interests are varied, with a special interest in internal medicine. After leaving practice, Jack began volunteer coaching in the Professional Skills communication program and then joined the faculty as a PSkills Instructor and course co-ordinator, initially in the first year course, and then the third year course. Jack has been involved with the ABVMA for many years and now represents Alberta veterinarians as a member of the National Examining Board which administers the NAVLE and accredits veterinary education programs in Canada, the U.S. and internationally.
