Biography

Dr Jane Yelland is Co-Leader of the Refugee and Migrant Research Program within the Healthy Mothers Healthy Families research group at Murdoch Childrens. She holds an National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Career Development Fellowship, and is an honorary senior research fellow at the University of Melbourne, General Practice and Primary Health Care Academic Centre. Jane has a PhD in perinatal epidemiology and health services research, and has developed her research career in perinatal healthcare and maternal health with a particular focus on engaging diverse and 'hard to reach' populations. She is currently leading a large NHMRC funded partnership project Bridging the Gap that is developing innovative quality improvement strategies to tackle known refugee inequalities in maternal and child health. She is also a Chief Investigator for two other NHMRC funded studies: the Aboriginal Families Study in South Australia, and the Childhood Resilience Study. Jane is a member of three international editorial advisory boards.
